Mummy Issues - Part 9

If you are new one here... From time to time I'm posting parts of my work in progress novella "Mummy Issues". Of course you would like to start to read it from the first post. The link should be at the end of this post. Chapter 3 - Part 3“Please! Let me do this—relax…it will be good for you, see?” I urged her when she opened her deep green eyes to look at me. I could see she seemed tense, her shoulders drawn up and her arms hanging stiffly at her sides as if she did not know what to do with them. At my gentle tone and open gaze, she seemed to relax, however, a little. As I leaned, right over her legs, I showed her the salve on my fingers. Then slowly extended my hand towards her feet, and as slowly as I could, I started to rub it in, on an inch of her ankle, rolling my fingers over her skin, again surprised how smooth and soft it is. The Mummy probably felt some kind of improvement, as I could see her relax. Then I moved my hands upwards, as first my hands slid up and down applying the salve over her shins and knees and then to her calves, relaxing her muscles as I felt her start to yield to my warm touch. She left a relaxed sigh —and I felt a surge of protectiveness shoot up in me, she was helpless and naïve. She was a beautiful, sensual being that had woken up in a different time and place—I must look after her, she must be as confused as I was by her awakening. The Mummy relaxed gradually, and I progressed to rubbing the salve on her naked flesh, up her thighs and over her taut abdomen, her soft body surrendering to my warm hands as they worked the salve further up over every inch of her. “Who are you, I wish I knew…” I breathed out as I massaged her and applied the salve to her body simultaneously. “Wh…whooo,” The Mummy repeated to me, making it sound like the hoot of an owl by dragging out the word. I laughed and she looked up at me startled but then after frowning, she tried to imitate my laugh and this made me laugh again. She tilted her head to the side and smiled too—her eyes flashing with a brightness that had not been there previously. Her gaze had been glassy, drowsy almost. Now she seemed to be a little more focused at least and like she was really seeing me. I was enchanted by her smile—it was like the sun breaking out from behind a dark cloud, warming me as she beamed at me, even if briefly. I shook myself out of my awed state and tried to think. “I wonder if you will eat food, do you need to? I do not know,” I said, sounding uncertain as I gazed at the Mummy. She looked at me, silent, but her brow arched quizzically as if she was wondering what I had just said or meant. “I will bring you food if you would like. I do not have much but I will gladly share it with you, Mummy.” I told the Mummy as she strained to focus, listening to me intently. “I can rub more salve on you then as well…but SubhanAllah, this is so strange! Nobody would believe this…I don’t even know if I am dreaming…but no, this is really happening!” I shook my head once, marveling. Not once had thoughts of my father, nor the strangers popped up in my mind since she had taken over all of my attention. And though I had so much to worry about, with the Mummy awakening, I felt completely invigorated, and at least in that moment things didn’t seem so bleak. Yes, she was beautiful and sensual, I loved to look at her. She was enticing and I felt like a protector over her—she gave me an exciting feeling and not just from looking at her but the fact that she was even alive! And I no longer felt alone, isolated from everything and everyone. It was, however, very strange. I knew it was. But I did not think too hard about it—why? I was in awe of her and in my lonely state, I did not want to question how this all came to be when she was the only thing brightening up my world! She was mysterious and I wanted; no - I needed, to learn more about her and…well, touching her and gazing upon her was for me, a thirteen-year-old boy, a forbidden delight.” Sami trailed off and gazed up at his friends before he picked up his mint tea and took another gulp. “You were never one to brag about touching women, akhi, I usually do that!” Rameez teased, while Ahmed grinned but he leaned forward as if impatient for Sami to continue. Sami caught his movement and his intent gaze upon him and smiled faintly. Sami gave them a dark look before he bowed his head as if collecting his memories before he returned to his story again. Chapter 4 - Part 1“The Mummy seemed to have improved a little from the salve that I had applied to her; I could tell because her movements seemed to be less stiff and I reassured myself that I had done her some good—and my guilty conscience felt a little more at ease. But she was tired out easily—and after a few minutes of sitting upright and moving her fingers; hands, and arms, her eyes started to return to that glassy, drowsy look she’d had when I had first entered the attic. “You must rest! It will help you heal faster,” I told the Mummy and she looked at me with a little puzzled frown on her face until I mimed the action of sleeping. She understood then and started to slip down back into her box while I padded it with the blankets that had been on the floor this whole time. I looked down at her as she lay nestled in the blankets. She had already shut her eyes, falling into a deep slumber. For a short irrational moment, I felt such attraction that I impulsively leaned over to plant a brief kiss on the Mummy’s cheek; very close to her mouth but even as my heart fluttered and my blood stirred, I felt pangs of guilt and pulled away to step back and move away. I should go—I told myself, my feelings of excitement were beginning to feel a little dangerous and I felt my head muddled. Was what I was doing wrong? I pushed this nagging thought aside and retreated downstairs after shutting the attic door once again. I fell asleep almost immediately— That night I dreamed again about being in the age of Pharaohs, but this time the Mummy was there too. She was dressed in a white, sleeveless dress from her era, wearing gold bracelets around her arms and wrists, and somehow, she managed to look angelic yet sensual at the same time. In my dream, she was feeding me delicious, juicy red grapes and we were sitting on thrones with views to the pyramids. I was her Pharaoh! I woke up with the remnants of this dream lingering pleasantly in my mind. To be a Pharaoh with such a beautiful queen by my side! The Mummy! My heart leaped as I threw off the blankets from my bed and excitedly rushed down the hallway. I left my bedroom and headed up the steps back to the attic. I could not wait to see her! I entered—she must not have risen yet since I had heard no noise. But to my surprise, there she was, standing outside of her crate and on her feet! “Ya, Allah!” I gasped out, looking amazed. She had managed to get out of the box and stand on her own when yesterday it had been difficult for her to extend her hands and arms let alone get out of the crate and use her legs! “Ya… All—Ah!” The Mummy turned to look at me, her red locks of hair tumbling about her shoulders as she gazed at me, green eyes so striking that they sent a shiver running along my spine. “You sound better to me,” I blurted out, sounding as surprised as I must have looked. “Better…” The Mummy smiled at me and nodded once. My brows shot up. Even her speech seemed to have picked up since her voice was clearer and not as garbled as it had been previously. “Wait! I have to get you something to eat! And…I need to wash my face…and change. Stay there—please. Do not go anywhere!” I exclaimed as I realized I should bring her something to eat and to drink—and I could certainly use something to eat too. She likely had not understood my jumbled rush of words but I used my hands to gesture for her to stay there—although she was simply standing outside of the crate and not doing anything in particular but looking around the room. I bolted out of the attic and head down to the bathroom and make my morning ablutions before changing out of pajamas and into my thobe before I returned to the attic bearing a tray with the sultanas and mixed nuts and the pack of biscuits. That and a solitary bottle of water was all I decided to share with her since I was rationing.
