Sometimes it just doesn't work

So, I had (paid) test page with a new artist for Mrs.G comic book 8, however while the art was fine , there were too many "red flags" that the work might get frustrating and hard with him in the future. He asked me if we can change the page rate (after I agreed with the first sum he asked me for!). Then when I asked him to do some changes to the layout, he warned me that I can't just request lot of changes, and the amount of time he has spent with me discussing the layout, is already longer than some other works that he is paid more for. And sincerely, the page, while definitely a good art, did not seem to be on same level with the pages I have seen from him. Maybe it was just those other things he said getting to me, and not a reality, but I started worrying that he will not give his full self in the work. So, even if it was just a suspicion, I think it would have burdened the work, so I decided not to continue working with him... So, that is it... #8 had a failed start, but we will figure something out...
